Email Patricia (765-288-0484) Often the entire bodies of these Hackney ponies seem suspended in motion and the front hoof and rear pastern often touch the upper body while trotting. Such ponies, at the highest point of the animated trot the Hackney seems to display an actual, brief suspension of motion before the leg is lowered. Although small, harness ponies are mighty and the hackney with his presence and utter fineness of body lines is that of royalty with the harness seeming to be only the decoration of royalty. The harness of such show ponies is meticulously maintained and often in paten leather. The brass or metal components of the harness are highly polished too. From the moment the hackney ponies enter the show ring to the moment they exit, the contained explosive energy is magnificent.
