Pat Crane Logo  Bronze Horses - A grouping of three sculptures, Stallion & 2 Mares

Title of Group of Sculptures shown below:  THE GATHERING

The sculptures of bronze horses offered below were created so that each can stand alone although they were designed as one grand grouping , as one compositional bronze with the stallion and two broodmares inter-relating as a whole. Viewed from all angles, the horses are true to life and scale, not to mention each of the sculptures. Each has an individual personality and conformation.

Patricia Crane has spend over 3 decades creating sculptures of bronze horses, including two life-size portraits for the famous park in Lexington, Kentucky.  The blue menu on the left, or links in the Gallery can be used to view many of her sculptures.

"As if he told the steps", the stallion bows his neck, his potent energy

the 3 sculptures of two brood-mares and one foal, titled "The Gathering".

Patricia's addiction to creating sculptures of horses began at the age of three and has continued unabated through the years. She has mainly created bronzes, but her work is inclusive of many media including porcelain, Raku, hand-painted pewter and resin.  Patricia's sculptures are in many public and private collections world wide and her reputation as a bronze sculptor is as highly regarded as the individual sculptures themselves, especially to the owners who have commissioned portraits of their favorite horses.

The benchmark of Crane's sculptures is a combination of anatomical exactness (to the point where each of the bronze horses, if they could become a real living horse, possess the correct and proper functioning anatomy to move as real horses move), with an elegance of form and a 'presence' that allows the viewer to feel as though they are indeed experiencing an alive relationship.  Patricia is best known for her true to character portraits, although her more general sculptures often capture the very essence of the breed characteristics breeders strive to achieve in each generation of new foals.
